This animation was generated from a PFC3D v9 model using rigid blocks and clumps for the snowflakes and walls for the ITASCA logo. Each snowflake consists of 104 rigid blocks which are saved as a clump template. Snowflakes (2,500 clumps) are then generated randomly at different orientations and sizes. Each snowflake clump is treated as a single object, greatly enhancing computational efficiency. When a snowflake encounters a wall (logo or floor) and slows down and to a specified velocity, each clump breaks into its constitutive, cyan-colored rigid blocks.
