Sensitive week here in Minneapolis — but art still brings connection.

We planned our February gathering for light things—new art, new faces, and my favorite more daylight!!! ☀️

But the moments we’re in now asks for something deeper.

So this Thursday Feb. 5th (tomorrow evening) at the we are showing up for both art and community—with a small “event within the event” to support the ACLU of MN

I remind myself that even small missteps can lead to surprisingly beautiful results. This pendant necklace is a perfect example—born from a little experimentation when I accidentally applied too much heat to a piece of metal not related to jewelry. Instead of giving up, I let the molten metal take on its organic, unpredictable shape. I added just a touch of 18kt gold for a subtle accent and oxidized it to create striking contrast. Come see this unique piece in person tomorrow, Saturday, October 4th, at the final outdoor Market of the season at Mill City. ✨I’ve been quiet here lately. Truth is—I literally ran out of oxygen yesterday. And without oxygen, there’s no silversmithing.

✨That’s my metaphor for today. It feels like the oxygen is low everywhere. Even while I try to keep my little bubble of positivity with family and close friends, the heaviness in the world—and the constant division—has left my heart angry. Coming online often makes me feel worse, not better.

✨ But my fire isn’t out. It’s just waiting. Soon I’ll be back at the bench, torch lit with a fresh oxygen tank. For now, I’m sitting in the sunshine, sipping gratitude for small comforts and warm air.
