Bonus: the Banner Drop/Bridge Outreach events are off-fairgrounds with easy, free street parking.

Imagine your first moments in the world surrounded by hundreds of noisy strangers instead of peace, safety, and your mother.

That's the reality for calves born at the Minnesota State Fair's Miracle of Birth Center. Their births are used as a spectacle for crowds. The public rarely considers what happens afterward: the calves' milk is stolen, and mothers and calves eventually become part of the same system that sends them to slaughter.

These animals aren't exhibits. They're individuals with lives that matter beyond the few days they're displayed.

It's time to end this exploitation.

THE MINNESOTA STATE FAIR IS COMING AND WE’RE SHOWING UP FOR THE ANIMALS.

Every year, thousands of people walk through the fairgrounds. And every year, vulnerable animals are put on display. This year, we are again advocating specifically for the mothers and babies at the Miracle of Birth Center.

This fair season, we’re taking action through outreach, chalking, banner drops, and other events to help fairgoers see what happens behind the spectacle and to advocate for the abolition of use of the animals.

Minnesota’s Dissection Lending Library

Did you know there’s a resource in Minnesota that can help educators, students, and homeschool families explore anatomy and biology without relying on animal dissection?

Through Teaching Compassion, a program of the Animal Rights Coalition, the Dissection Lending Library offers humane, educational alternatives to traditional dissection. It’s a resource worth knowing about for homeschoolers, classroom educators, students, and anyone looking for compassionate ways to teach and learn about anatomy.

Know an educator, homeschool family, or student who could benefit? Share this post and help spread the word!

We were busy, busy, two Thursdays ago at the White Bear Lake Marketfest — we barely had a second to catch our breath!

With an environmental theme this Thursday, we handed out ARC's Vegan Guide featuring recipes and info on climate change, along with kids' activity sheets, stickers and bookmarks. We also invited folks of all ages to spin our prize wheel — everyone who answered a question about ARC, veganism, or animal rights walked away a winner!

By the end of the night, we'd given out 24 free We're All Animals games, 346 pieces of literature, and tons of activity sheets, bookmarks, stickers, and candy. Our booth was THE place for free goodies! You could tell by the line that stayed at our table all night long.

We're proud to attend the White Bear Lake Marketfest every year, and we're so grateful for the chance to keep spreading the word about animal rights and vegan living in the community!

Wow, what a turnout! 🌞 ARC-CAA's Annual Potluck & Grill Out on Sunday, August 2nd was one for the books. The sun was shining, the food looked (and tasted!) incredible, and the conversations were positive and uplifting from start to finish.

A huge thank you to everyone who volunteered — from setting up and grilling, to running the kids' table and games, to cleaning up afterward. We couldn't have pulled this off without you! 💚

And a special shoutout to Herbivorous Butcher for generously donating the delicious burgers and brats we grilled up.

This event was such a success that we're already counting down to next year's gathering!

Want to stay in the loop on upcoming events? Follow Animal Rights Coalition on Facebook, Instagram, and Meetup. You can also add ARC to your organizations on POINT and fill out an application to get our monthly volunteer email.

Questions about how to get involved? Email Kelsey at [email protected] — we'd love to hear from you!

Whether it's for a fun social gathering or a chance to volunteer for the animals, we hope to see you again soon.
