Newly Analyzed Footage Helps Solve Hindenburg Mystery 05/07/2025

On this day in 1937 the German airship Hindenburg burst into flames at 7:20 p.m. as it neared the mooring mast at Lakehurst, New Jersey, following a trans-Atlantic voyage. Thirty six of the 97 passengers and crew were killed. The inferno was caught on film and also witnessed by a commentator who broke down amid the emotional impact and exclaimed, "Oh, the humanity!" The accident effectively ended commercial airship traffic.

In 2021 NOVA presented a new look at the disaster highlighted in this clip.

Newly Analyzed Footage Helps Solve Hindenburg Mystery A new piece of the Hindenburg puzzle has surfaced.

Celebrating National Nurses Day! Warmest gratitude to all the amazing caregivers from Milwaukee PBS. Back in 2021, 10Thirtysix showcased a remarkable story of Delores Nicholson Wilkins, who is the first African American nurse to graduate from the Medical College of Wisconsin. Her story during the Black History Month truly amazed us - may it inspire you as much as it did us.
