For Women’s History Month, MCTS Salutes Pioneers like Dyonne Todzy. She joined the company in 1975 based at our Kinnickinnic Station. On January 27, 1978, Dyonne made history as the first woman to be an MCTS platform instructor. Platform instructors teach route training, safety and customer service skills to newly hired bus operators. She was also one of among the first two women hired by MCTS as drivers.
Dyonne’s promotion opened the pathway for other women bus operators to follow her in her footsteps. Today, women make up (46%) percent of our bus operators and (33%) of our platform instructors. Dyonne was also the first woman to receive a 10-year safety award. #TBT

High gas prices are making headlines. We understand these rising costs can cause a hardship for many residents and we want you to know we’re here for you.
Right now, gas costs approximately $4 per gallon. A gallon will only get you a few miles per day by car. For that same $4, you can ride anywhere within Milwaukee County’s 242 square miles for an entire day. Let us help.
A customer shared his praise for Driver Arkillius Drane in an email last summer: “Hands down the best driver I’ve had the pleasure of riding with! This driver has always been extremely upbeat and personable every time I’ve been lucky enough to board his bus. Please give this man a raise … A+ accommodations whenever he is behind the wheel!” Way to go, Arkillius!
Next parade stop: Bluemounds ☘️☘️☘️

Love can happen anywhere…even on mass transit! Kris Wallner & Tod Wanta met onboard the Route 49, so when we found out they were getting married last spring, we knew we had to help them celebrate.
With help from one of their bridesmaids, we arranged for them to take photos on board one of our buses with the special “We Heart You!” message on the front screen. We also surprised them with a customized bus stop sign to commemorate their special day.
Please help us congratulate Kris & Tod, and wish a very happy Valentine's Day to all of our transit fans!
