Supporting communities to lead and benefit from the future they envision

06/17/2026

The Wendi Miller Legacy Project seeks to archive, contextualize, and celebrate the life and work of an artist and LGBTQIA+ activist who ran a picture frame shop, Miller Frame, for 50 years in historic East Pittsburgh.

She turned her shop into a safe and supportive space for herself and for transgender diaspora from around the rust-belt in the 1990s. She served on countless local boards and she helped pen the 1997 City of Pittsburgh ordinance that protected transgender right to jobs and housing.

Help keep her legacy alive by donating today: https://www.newsunrising.org/project/the-wendi-miller-legacy-project/

The Wendi Miller Legacy Project is a fiscally sponsored project of New Sun Rising. Learn more about fiscal sponsorship here: https://www.newsunrising.org/accessible-funding/fiscal-sponsorship/
