Pregnant and postpartum people in the U.S. are more likely to be killed than people the same age who aren’t pregnant. More than 60% of those homicides involve a gun.

This October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

Domestic violence is any pattern of control over a partner, ex, or family member. It isn’t always physical. It can be forced s*x, threats, controlling your money, or messing with your birth control.

When abortion is banned or pushed out of reach, it doesn’t disappear. It gets more dangerous.

Right now, Virginia is the last state in the South without a ban or severe restrictions. That protection can change with one bad legislative session.

Unless we lock it in.
