We were absolutely delighted to return to the festival this year. Preservation Virginia and the staff at Patrick Henry’s Scotchtown did a fantastic job hosting - we appreciate their organization, helpfulness, and friendly welcome to this beautiful historic site. They also managed to choose the most beautiful weather for this event 😉 Thank you so much!

We had THE MOST FUN meeting all of the visitors today! There were so many knitters, crocheters, sewists, and artists of all kinds. It was awesome to spend the day chatting with “our people” - makers of every variety! Thank you so much for stopping by to chat and shop.

I’ve been mildly obsessed with these quilted bags lately. As soon as I finish one, I have three more ideas for fabric and color combos 😂🤣

When I was at QuiltCon in February, I found some charm packs of Liberty of London fabrics and grabbed them right up with this pattern in mind! It’s a slow process to piece and quilt each panel before I can begin constructing the bag, but I think the end result is worth it. ❤️

I’ve just discovered that if you accidentally get temporary adhesive basting spray on your favorite ruler, it really helps stop it from sliding around when you’re cutting fabric 😂🤣😂🤣

With just a week to go till our first event of the year…. Of course I add excitement to the situation by trying to break one of my sewing machines. On a Saturday morning. When I have a stack of projects to finish.

Both I and Mr. GCS examined the patient and could not effect a cure. In a state approaching panic, I called All Things New Sewing & Service and asked if they could possibly take a look at it.

They said SURE, bring it on in - so I did! And after a brief adjustment, all is well once more. We are SO LUCKY to have such a wonderful, knowledgable, helpful resource in our sewing community.
