Midland County Mounted Patrol
The Mounted Patrol was originally started in the early 1950’s. The current unit started in 1995 with it coming and going. Why do we use horses?
After a short while, the unit began to die down. Sheriff Criner appointed Investigator Johnny Rodriguez as Commander and Investigator Daniel Moore as Lieutenant commander. Johnny has hit the ground running with his knowledge and a life time of experience with horses. Mounted patrol spent the last two days in Alpine Texas for the Big Bend Law Enforcement Memorial. We will always ride for the fallen.

The mounted patrol is not always about riding. It takes a lot of training to get the horses were we are comfortable taken them out in the public. Today like always the unit showed up to work on the obstacles. What a great group of people. They do all this for the people of Midland County. Many thanks to you all for making this unit the best!!!
