Scratch DJ Academy

“And we got the master of a disco scratch, there’s not a break that he can’t catch, Jam Master Jay, that is his name, and all wild DJs, he will tame”

As one of the pioneers of modern HipHop, our founder, and the cultures most revered DJ, we would like to say Happy JMJ Day!

Our and head honcho was a guest on ’s CTRL-ALT D-STROY on last week.

Check the videos above for clips from his Rumble Mix, and you can check out the whole set on ’s SoundCloud.

Registration is now open for our DJ INTRO course beginning September 6. This 6-week class meets twice a week, with two schedule options:
📅 Saturdays & Sundays, 12–2pm
📅 Mondays & Thursdays, 6–8pm

DJ INTRO is perfect for beginners ready to start mixing with confidence. By combining our introductory and intermediate courses (Levels 1 & 2), you’ll learn essential DJ techniques along with the mixing and blending skills needed to perform live.

At the end of the course, you’ll showcase what you’ve learned by performing a 10–15 minute set in front of your peers and instructors. Graduates will also have the chance to continue into our Part-Time Program.

Visit academy.scratch.com to get started and secure your spot.

We want to give a huge shout-out to the graduates from the Bonded by Music program in conjunction with ! Everyone had a great DJ set and we can’t wait to see where you take things in your DJ path.

“Jam Master Jay, that is his name
And all wild DJs, he will tame
Behind the turntables is where he stands
Then there is the movement of his hands
So when asked who’s best, y’all should say
Run-DMC and Jam Master Jay”

We are incredibly saddened by the news surrounding the passing of DJ Clark Kent, a friend of the academy and one of the most important voices in the culture.
