Desert Rock Resort has been featured among The 16 Most Beautiful Hotels in the World by Condé Nast Traveler and Prix Versailles.

Carved into the mountains of Saudi Arabia, the resort reflects our approach to hospitality design: creating places that foster a meaningful connection between people, nature, and culture while embracing the unique character of each setting.

We are grateful to our clients, collaborators, and project teams whose shared vision made this extraordinary destination possible.

We are honored to announce that Chad Oppenheim will participate as a panelist in Roundtable 1: Shared Landscapes, The Agency of Designer(s) at the Bread & Heart Festival in Albania

Rooted in a philosophy of silence, sustainability, and emotional connection to place, Chad’s work explores how architecture can foster deeper relationships between people, nature, and the built environment.

The conversation will bring together voices shaping the future of territorial and urban transformation through design, culture, and landscape.

The arrival sequence of the signature villa reinforces this sense of integration. The design team carves a descending entry, where excavated earth and constructed surfaces overlap. The entry stair, hewn into the slope, forms a compressed threshold before releasing into open views, framing the Ionian horizon.

Guided by the principles of ‘spirit of place, silent monumentality, and the essential,’ the design of the signature villa is imagined as a direct response to the raw, coastal landscape. The villa emerges from the hillside as a carved concrete form, its geometry drawn from the language of caves and ancient stone structures.

Nestled in a quiet neighbourhood, overlooking the German part of Lake Constence, the intimate Kronbühl residence site sits between a beautiful sunflower plantation, and an apple orchard extending along the whole back of the plot.
The compact plot was optimized through the design of a three-story home for our clients. A landscaped berm covering the basement floor, offers a lush extended garden that blends with the surrounding landscape.
By anchoring the lowest volume into the terrain, the entertainment spaces inside and the garden, swimming pool and exisitng trees on the outside develop a natural synergy.

Big thanks to Architecture Conference for inviting Beat Huesler, Director of Oppenheim Architecture Europe, as a speaker at this year’s inspiring gathering in Athens.

During the presentation, Beat shared Oppenheim’s design philosophy and approach to creating a strong “spirit of place” architecture that is deeply rooted in landscape, culture and atmosphere. Through projects such as Ayla Golf Academy in Jordan, the Muttenz Water Purification Plant in Switzerland, Desert Rock Resort in Saudi Arabia, and many others.

A sincere thank you to the organizers, speakers, and everyone involved for the inspiring conversations, warm hospitality, and beautifully curated event in the heart of Athens.
