May was a great month of fulfilling events for NAWIC Miami Chapter 41!
Meditation & Mimosas was a wonderfully, relaxing start. Led by our very own Annie Goldman on a beautiful South Florida morning, on beautiful Deering Point, this event set the tone for a "mother of a month."
La Victoria Miami Collection - Lunch & Learn was a testament to what a mother of four can accomplish. With a mother's appreciation for practicality, and inspired by her ancestry's history, Laura Capestany's vision for spacious, stylish, and centrally located family accommodations came together in five modern, short rental townhouses. Here, guests can rent one, a few, or all five units—staying connected, comfortable, and immersed in Miami's unique culture.
This Lunch & Learn event also made evident the importance of our NAWIC connections and networking. Collaborating in this project we have chapter member Samar Nashash. Through her Shades and Design Studio, she provided motorized shades. Using high performance European motors and carefully selected fabrics, Samar's selections complemented La Victoria's cultural identity and vision design.
We closed the month with a Round Table & Open House at CBT Technology Institute's main campus in Flagler Street, where chapter members and guests met with students and staff from their Flagler and Cutler Bay campuses. On this event we held an open dialogue about women's roles in the construction trades, and how we, as a chapter, can support CBT's current and future female students and graduates.
The month of May is traditionally dedicated to mothers. As women in all aspects of the construction industry, we are here to support and elevate all of us, regardless of role, relevance, and status. We are the Miami chapter for the National Association of Women in Construction, we are your sisters, and we are here for you all.
