MDO Partners Managing Partner Richard Montes de Oca enjoyed attending The Hispanic National Bar Association - HNBA Annual In-House Counsel Auction at the offices of Holland & Knight LLP. The event raises funds for scholarships for future lawyers from underprivileged communities. Last Friday, MDO Partners Managing Partner and ILS Chair Elect, Richard Montes de Oca attended The Florida Bar International Law Section 's iLaw Conference at the JW Marriott Marquis® Miami. The iLaw Conference exhibited some of the leading experts in International Law, including corporate law, litigation, arbitration and compliance. Richard also moderated a panel on White Collar and Anti-Money Laundering Issues in International Litigation, which discussed current AML trends, issues, regulations. and enforcement, in with particular respect to international money-laundering schemes, AML Act developments, cross-border regulatory enforcement, and AML compliance program best practices.

The panelists were Barbara del Pilar Alonso, Santander International, Eric Bustillo, U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Rebekah Poston, Squire Patton Boggs, and Rafael Ribeiro, Hogan Lovells.

In addition to the excellent panels, the conference included and interesting keynote lunch with Ken Feinberg on Unconventional Responses to Unique Catastrophes, and wonderful networking receptions.
