Today marks the first day of the 2026–2027 school year for our newest Breakthrough Miami Scholar from Miami-Dade County Public Schools, District 3, Coconut Grove Elementary School PTA. While the school year is just getting started, their Breakthrough journey is already in motion!

This summer, our newest Scholars stepped into their Breakthrough Miami experience, kicking off an 8-year journey filled with learning, leadership, and opportunities. Now, as they head back into their classrooms, they’re bringing with them the confidence, curiosity, and Breakthrough spirit they began building this summer.

Breakthrough is proud to serve more than 1,800 Scholars in 5th-12th grade. Together with Miami-Dade County Public Schools, we’re helping students dream bigger, explore further, and build a strong foundation for academic and personal success.

Breakthrough serves nearly 2,000 5th-12th grade Scholars. Together with Miami-Dade County Public Schools, we're investing in young leaders by providing academic enrichment, mentorship, and leadership development that will help them thrive throughout their eight-year Breakthrough Miami journey.

These motivated and talented Miami-Dade County Public Schools students began their eight-year Breakthrough Miami journeys this summer as part of our incoming class of Scholars, strengthening their academic skills, exploring new interests, and preparing for success this school year and all the way through high school, college, and beyond. They join our dynamic Village of more than 1,800 5th-12th-grade Scholars, 600 student volunteers, and 250 Teaching Fellows and Teaching Assistants.

📓Provide 1:1 academic advising services for Scholars

👨Act as a role model to Breakthrough Miami Scholars..among other responsibilities

What you'll gain:
💸Living stipend: $525 semi-monthly while actively serving
