My best memory of him: He was the one who gave me my audition for the OSV, at the Teresa Carreño Theater, during a rehearsal break for La Bohème. There were about 20 musicians listening, and Rodolfo had me play at least 15 orchestral trumpet excerpts, one after another, switching trumpets and styles… it was brutal! I’ll never forget that moment. Afterwards, I went into the hall to listen to my new orchestra (!) rehearsing that powerful opera with him.✨

I always had deep respect for his talent, his musicality, and the kind of person he was. I always enjoyed playing under his baton, and I’ll be forever grateful for his enthusiasm and for conducting my audition.💛

I definitely qualify 🤓! What's your most defining one? Mine is #4. My heart has always led the way...for better or for worse 😜.

The illustrious "reduced brass" section of the Gulfshore Opera, 2025, with Troy Messner on French horn. A small but powerful back row. 😎

Friends since the good ol' U of Michigan days! While in his PhD conducting program he was too busy to teach trumpet so I took over his private trumpet studio. Thanks again, Frank 😇 and GO BLUE!! ✨🎶🎺
