It is predicted that our oceans will contain at least 937 million tons of plastic and 895 million tons of fish by 2050.

However, change is still possible: and it starts here.

The Gone Fishing Sock is made from a ultra soft organic cotton material and contains a detailed woven scenery of fisherman fishing and disputing waste into our blue waters.

Dip your feet in our Turtles with Straws socks

The Turtles With Straws Sock is part of Cicada's Ocean Waste Collection. A collection showcasing the increasing percentage of plastic waste in our oceans.

Straws that end up in the ocean and bay (or a poor sea turtle's nostril), don't biodegrade for decades, instead they just break down into smaller plastic pieces that harm the living habitats of marine life.

The Turtles With Straws Sock is made from a ultra soft organic cotton material and contains fine woven details of turtles choking on human waste.

Ready to be plastic free this July?

We live in a world full of plastic. Much of the plastic we use is designed to last forever and used temporarily.

Can you imagine that every toothbrush or every coffee lid you've ever used is out there somewhere?

While some plastic can be recycled, most ends up in landfill and our seas. The Great Pacific Garbage Patch contains 1.8 trillion pieces of plastic debris. That's 3 times the size of France!

The best way to reduce our plastic footprint is to reuse, reduce and rethink.

Here are 3 things you can do to reduce your plastic use:
🥤avoid single-use packaging
🥤quit using plastic bottles, disposable coffee cups , plastic bags and straws
🥤reuse what you have and focus on using less or no plastic

We highly support any efforts to reduce plastic use. Our Ocean Waste collection socks speak deeply about the great negative impact plastic has on our marine life.

$1 from each sock purchased is donated to Drifters Project of Oceanic Society.

What are you going to do in July to decide your plastic waste?

The world is upside down, it's going to take a lot of hands to turn it right side up.
But we all have the power to be the change.

Take small steps towards creating a better world, spread the word, educate yourself and others. The world needs you to be the driving force to change.

We at Cicada believe that your personal taste says a lot about you - and we want to help you say something positive and impactful. We all have the power to make the world a better place, and nothing says we can’t do it in style.

The snow leopard, nicknamed for its rarity and ability to live under camouflage in snowy conditions, is hunted for its fur and highly valued bones.

There is a total estimated population of 4,080-6,590 snow leopards world wide, which keeps declining. Estimated 221-450 snow leopards may have been poached annually since 2008.

Besides poaching and retaliatory killings, climate change poses a great long-term threat to snow leopards. Impacts from climate change could result in a loss of up to 30 percent of the snow leopard habitat in the Himalayas alone.

The Snow Leopard Sock is part of our Poaching Collection. For each sock sold, we donate $1 to Bhejane Trust and their antipoaching efforts.
