Some birthdays are joyful. Some are tender.

Today, we hold both.

For almost ten years, Charlie was my mom’s faithful little shadow, devoted companion, and one of her greatest comforts after losing my dad. Yesterday, she experienced every dog owner’s heartbreak and fought fearlessly to save her sweet boy.

Anyone who knows my mother knows how fiercely she loves.

But if there’s one thing my mom has given the people around her through all 81 years of her life, it’s love, strength, grace, and unwavering heart. She’s the kind of woman who always puts a little love in your heart.

Celebrating the beautiful woman she is today and always. ❤️
