Powering Secure Crypto Transactions For U.S. & Virtual Real Estate
08/30/2022
In the past, the only way to buy and sell property was through a centralized institution. Now, people are using blockchain to facilitate real estate transactions. Why?
Because the current process is bulky and slow, with a larger number of middlemen and prone to wire fraud, expensive conversion fees for foreign investors, and manual subprocesses.
The future of real estate transactions is more secure, faster, automated, and recorded immutably on the blockchain for title purposes.
This trillion-dollar industry is largely untapped and ripe for change. It's also one of the most regulated industries, with a lot of red tape. Godeedly, a DeFi startup aims at solving the issues surrounding real estate transactions to help US homeowners and international investors buy and sell properties through a smart escrow system.

Did you know that a lot of foreign investors are looking to purchase property with USD?
This is because it is safer and more stable than the currencies in their home countries. Real estate investments are very popular due to the stability and profitability they can provide.
However, there are factors that hinder many foreign investors from getting into the US real estate market.
In order to purchase real estate in the US, foreign investors must first convert their funds into USD, which can be a strenuous process depending on the country they are from. There are many hurdles to overcome in order to convert money into another currency, and if they are not careful, they could end up paying much more than they should.
Godeedly makes it easy for international investors to buy US real estate with crypto-currency. For this service, there is no need to convert into US dollars- effectively removing all foreign exchange risk. The Godeedly platform also reduces middlemen fees and expedites the sale cycle.

Ethereum (ETH) co-founder Vitalik Buterin (.buterin__official) has just revised the release date of an upcoming upgrade, marking the next phase in Ethereum’s growth. In a tweet posted on August 12, Buterin noted that developers had fixed the number of hashes left to mine; therefore, the transition would happen earlier than expected.
Earlier, Ethereum developers had projected that migration to the new system might happen by September 19.
'Goerli' was a successful testnet for the Ethereum's Merge upgrade and while not everyone on the network agreed with the decision to eliminate mining, some speculate that there may be an alternative action called a "fork" which will retain Proof of Work (PoW) status.
Vitalik Buterin therefore advised mining operators to move away from the platform and instead migrate to other related ecosystems such as ETC. He believes that a fork of the platform will not have a major impact on the ecosystem.

Despite the drop in value in most cryptocurrencies, there is an increasing number of developers, business leaders and other early adopters that are still sticking to their guts.
There is also a growing movement of not just buying and selling properties with crypto, but the distribution of physical assets in digital formats. These physical assets can be created into tokens and sold instantly through online markets.
For clarity purposes, the process of tokenizing traditional assets is a more secure way to transfer ownership, and it unlocks liquidity in otherwise illiquid markets.
Although Samuel Grossman believes tokenization is key to maximizing the potential of blockchain technology and decreasing market volatility, he opines that the volatility is a huge cause of concern for the process.
Will tokenization stand the test of time? Why can’t US investors enjoy the same privileges as their foreign counterparts in tokenization processes? Let us know in the comments.

The virtual land sales market saw a sharp downturn as the broader cryptocurrency market experienced a major downturn.
The virtual land price meltdown in the metaverse should not come as a surprise given that the broader crypto market, as well as the real-world economy, is being weighed down by the war in Ukraine, soaring inflation, and tech job cuts among other reasons.
But is this an indicator that the metaverse land market has not matured enough to hold through a down market?
A dashboard showing data from Dune Analytics, an open-source provider of analytics for the metaverse, shows that most projects have experienced a heartbreaking drop in the sales of their virtual lands since their record highs in January 2022.
What is your prediction for the next few months? Do you think Virtual Land sales will rebound soon? Share with us in the comments section.

Want to know how investing in real estate could save you from a crypto crash?
In the last few years, many people have invested in cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum. But, because these currencies are not tied to any physical assets, their value can change unpredictably. If you're looking for a more stable way to invest your money, consider investing in real estate instead.
Buying property is always a good investment because it provides a place to live and an appreciating asset that will be worth more over time. And if the housing market crashes, you'll still have your property and can rent it out or sell it to make up for your losses.
Real estate is consistently one the best long term investments and has no correlation with the value of fiat or cryptocurrency.
Also, if a cryptocurrency market crash occurs, it might not affect the real estate market in the same way.
Interestingly, the markets in many countries are seeing a significant amount of growth this year. For instance:
• According to Realtor.com, real estate prices in the United States increased by 17.6% last year, with no signs of slowing down so far.
• The housing market in Germany will continue to be quite lucrative, as home prices are forecast to rise 7.0%, according to an earlier Reuters report.
• UK property prices recorded a 10.2% annual inflation in the first 5 months of this year, according to The Guardian.
If you are worried about the ups and downs of cryptocurrency trading, real estate may just be the perfect investment for you.

A tremendous wave of crypto-property exchange is currently sweeping across Florida. From Naples to Gulfport and Ocala, homeowners are beginning to entertain offers for their properties in crypto. More and more people from the Northeast and California are buying homes in Florida’s West Coast.
Last August, successful Real Estate Investor Paul Lizell () used $100,000 worth of Bitcoin as a down payment to buy a home in Naples. According to Bezinga, Bitpay converted the Bitcoin in real time, making this purchase painless and seamless.
Denis Smykalov (), who works with the Wolsen Real Estate agency, has conducted several real estate transactions using cryptocurrency - this corresponds with the area being a hotspot for cryptocurrency technology.
Amy Heckler (amy heckler, Florida Licensed Real Estate Broker), based in St. Pete Beach, was an agent for a house in Gulfport, Pinellas County that sold for 210 Ethereum at an NFT auction on Feb. 10. That translated to a purchase price of $632,000 at the time. Once the sale was complete, the buyer instantly received ownership of the house they purchased.
Homeowners are beginning to understand that if you want to get closer to your money quickly, then crypto may be the best way to handle your transactions, in theory and in practice: buying and selling real estate using crypto just isn’t much different from fiat currency.
