📝 On the path to becoming better writers, today Ms. Peveto's English II classes took on a lesson called, “Hear No Evil, See No Evil, Speak No Evil.”

In this lesson, each Raider took on a different sensory role, and they had to work together to crack a mystery code. By the end of the lesson, students got to experience how much detail each sense contributes and how important clear communication is when putting those details into words.

This week kicked off our first Campus Ministry Night of the school year with the theme: "Fending off Foes."

Campus Ministry Nights are held throughout the school year and offer a night of prayer, fellowship, and fun among our Raiders.

All Rummel Alumni, families, and fans of Rummel Football are invited to come support the Raiders on Archbishop Rummel Night at Francesca by Katie's on Friday, September 25, 6-8 pm, as part of Ken Trahan's Original Prep Football Report, a statewide radio show airing locally on 106.7 The Ticket.

Head Football Coach Nick Monica will be live on the show throughout.

🎨 Ms. McLeod's advanced art students in Art II, Art III, and AP Drawing are all working side by side this week. Their projects include linocut prints, modern art mashups, and identity artworks that explore who they are through their work.

We can't wait to see the finished pieces!

Today, we welcomed guest speaker Mr. David Scotton at a special assembly hosted by Louisiana Right to Life.

The assembly served as a follow-up of last week’s Pro-Life Youth Summit in Baton Rouge, where Brother B led a group of Raiders to learn and grow in their faith.

Today, all of our Raiders got to share in that experience with Brother B opening the assembly before Mr. Scotton addressed our students.

Thank you to Louisiana Right to Life and Mr. Scotton for spending time with our Raiders, and to Brother B for leading the way!

Today was the first in a series of "Witness Wednesdays" in Mr. Rodrigue's Theology II classes. On Witness Wednesdays, Mr. Rodrigue brings in guest speakers from the Rummel community to share their personal testimony of how the Lord has worked and continues to work in their lives.

Today's speaker was Mr. Scott O'Brien, who has taken part in the Rummel Chapelle Belize Mission Trip. During his testimony, he shared this reminder with students: "Sometimes God provides you with struggles so you can grow closer to Him, so don't give up."

Thank you, Mr. O'Brien, for sharing your faith with our Raiders!

🎺 Raiders in our Beginner Band class are proof that it's never too late to start learning music!

In addition to our Raider Band classes, we also offer a Beginner Band class designed for students starting from scratch. The class is led by our Band Director Mr. Telly Higgins and Assistant Band Director Mr. Jacob St. Pierre ‘17, and is open to any Raider who wants to learn, regardless of prior musical experience.

🤖 This weekend our Raider Robotics team made it to the finals for the second straight tournament with a 2nd place finish in the Red Stick Rumble in the Denham Springs Regional!

The team was led by manager Dominic Bua, drivers Robbie Chong and Tyler Asevedo, technicians Alex Bertucci, Carmine Giafaglione, Rileigh Welsted, Skyler Levron, and Konnor Welsted- along with college mentors Kolby and Kyle Torres. Team mentors Jim Goebel (Lead Mentor) and Paul Odenwald.

🔬 Our Raiders were busy in our science labs last week!

Take Ms. Gendron's AP Biology II class, for example, who spent the week working on a lab on osmosis and diffusion, using dialysis tubing as a model cell membrane to explore how molecules move across a semipermeable membrane.

Students tested for the presence of starch and salt using IKI and silver nitrate solutions, then built their own dialysis tubing "cells" filled with different sucrose concentrations to measure how solute concentration affects diffusion rate. They even using their data to predict two unknown concentrations.
