ASA Now

This past Friday a group of boys from a local group home came in to let a youth in foster care pick up his birthday request. He was so excited to be able to pick out his gifts and yes, even 14 year old boys love a good stuffy. The center has such a peaceful and calming feeling after all the hard work of getting everything set up over the summer. The boys asked if they could come back everyday. Giving children and youth a safe space is such a blessing. Feeling safe, supported, and having a trusted community to walk along side of them helps heal and create hope even in dark days. Thank you to our donors, volunteers, and supporters who continue to show up and create these magical moments.

This past Thursday we served 43 families during our monthly food distribution. Food distribution is just one of the monthly programs ASA Now offers to help meet and fill the gaps for homes with youth impacted by foster care and youth who have aged of foster care. Prevention is Key. As we continue to bridge the gap in the community and help with prevention and support.

Being placed in foster care removes your sense of security, belonging, and control. Small acts of understanding go along way. Giving a child a simple choice to pick out a gift from our birthday closet is not just a gift. It’s a bridge to healing. ❤️‍🩹

We are in need of items to refill our Immediate Needs Closet. These items are out completely. Donations can be sent through Amazon or dropped off Monday - Friday 9am to 3:30pm.
