31 Mar 43: The first Tokyo Rose radio broadcast of "The Zero Hour" is made, a program of jazz, popular music and news, interlaced with demoralizing commentary and appeals to surrender or sabotage the Allied war effort. It will be broadcast regularly until 12 Aug 45.

30 Mar 45: Germany: Day 24 of 45 of the Battle of the Ruhr Pocket. The US 1st Army begins a 3-day battle for Paderborn, during which Major General Maurice Rose is killed in action.
Rose was a fighting general who constantly put himself on the front lines in harm's way. He was the highest-ranking American Jewish officer ever killed in battle, and the only individual casualty to spark a War Crimes Investigation.

29 Mar 36: In a national referendum in Germany to obtain public support for the occupation of the Rhineland and approval of a single party list composed exclusively by N**i candidates for the new Reichstag, over 98% of Germans turnout to vote. An unknown vote counting procedure, however, has been slipped in: If a voter doesn't write "no" alongside a candidate's name, then that vote is counted as a "yes" for the N**i candidate.

28 Mar 35: Triumph of the Will is released, a propaganda film made by Leni Riefenstahl. It chronicles the September 5-10, 1934 N**i Party Congress in Nuremberg, which was attended by more than 700,000 N**i supporters. It becomes both praised and criticized as a prominent example of propaganda in film history.

27 Mar 33: An overflow crowd of 55,000, mostly Jews, attend a protest rally against Adolf Hi**er at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Parallel events are are held in Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, Cleveland, Philadelphia and 70 other locations.

26 Mar 40: The British War Cabinet debates French Prime Minister Reynaud's proposal to attack and destroy Soviet oil fields at Baku, a plan that will later be approved. The date to invade the USSR is set for 15 May 40, but it will be called off when Germany invades the Low Countries and France on 10 May 40. If Hi**er had waited one week, WWII could have easily taken a completely different course.

25 Mar 42: The CEO of Standard Oil of New Jersey pleads "no contest" to charges of criminal conspiracy with the N**is for not sharing their patents for making synthetic rubber with other American rubber companies. This stems from a 1927 partnership and research agreement between Standard Oil and German company I G Farben that was of great help to the N**is in preparing for war.

24 Mar 44: After months of planning, digging and forging, 76 Allied POWs in Stalag Luft III in Sagan, Germany (now Zagan, Poland), escape from the camp through a tunnel. The mass-escape causes havoc among the Germans as they issue a national alert and scramble to recapture them. An incensed Hi**er will personally order the ex*****on of 50 of the recaptured men in reprisal.

23 Mar 42: Wernher von Braun's team launches its first successful test of an A-4 rocket, which will become well known as the V-2 rocket that will terrorize London and Antwerp.
