This might be the most important class I ever teach, and it's happening at my kitchen table.

I've been reading The Intentional Father, and it lays out five kinds of fathers: the irresponsible, the ignorant, the inconsistent, the involved, and the intentional. I read that list and knew exactly which one I want to be, and which ones I've been at times.

So this Tuesday, I'm sitting down at our dinner table with my 8-year-old, Ryker, for a real conversation about money. Not because money is everything, but because it's one of the five areas that shape who he becomes, and it's the one most parents hand off to the world instead of teaching themselves.

We'll walk through what he already knows, where his money goes, what he's building, and the foundation Diane and I have been laying since he was two years old. Our goal for every one of our kids: financially independent by 20, a millionaire by 25. Money belongs at the dinner table. Most families never bring it there.
