A big congratulations to Judge Larry Primeaux and his retirement! I’ve known Larry basically since I was born. He and his family have always been so nice and Larry has always been a reliable wealth of knowledge and kindness.

My heart goes out to everyone involved in this incident. Bringing people the news is often times more dangerous than people realize. This one hits close. I’ve been to countless scenes just like this and I’m forever grateful for my safety. Keeping that news family in my thoughts. 🙏🏼

Changes implemented to downtown Meridian intersection

Motorists are advised that the City of Meridian has implemented changes to the intersection of 22nd Avenue and Front Street downtown.
Vehicles traveling eastbound on Front Street through the 22nd Avenue intersection will now use the left lane to continue eastbound on Front Street, Senior Project Manager Gabe Faggard of Neel-Schaffer Inc., said. The right lane is now designated for right turns only.
Additional striping has been placed along the approach to the intersection to aide motorists in determining the proper lane to use, Faggard said. Modifications to the traffic signal will be implemented in coming weeks in an effort to ease afternoon congestion along Front Street.

Effective immediately the bridge on Pine Springs Road will be closed due to critical findings during bridge inspections. Lauderdale County has been working to replace this structure for the past few months and this project is in final assembly with the Office of State Aid Road Construction. Please use alternative routes.
