Naval Technical Training Center (NTTC) Meridian has recognized Logistics Specialist Seaman (LSSN) Minh Au for her exceptional academic performance, dedication, determination, and commitment to excellence, earning her the prestigious Supply Schoolhouse Academic Excellence Award.

“I was born in Da Nang, Vietnam, and currently live in San Jose, California. I joined the Navy because I wanted to develop discipline, become more independent, and challenge myself by experiencing things I had never encountered before. I wanted to learn and grow as part of a team with my shipmates while also making my family proud.

My biggest inspiration is my mom. She is a single mother who has loved me unconditionally, worked incredibly hard, and made many sacrifices to make sure I had a good life. Her strength, love, and dedication continue to motivate me to work hard and pursue my goals.

Throughout my training, Mr. Wallace has been a supportive instructor who made the material easy for me to understand. His guidance and patience have played an important role in my success, and I would not be where I am today without his support.

As I embark on this next chapter in the Reserves, I look forward to continuing my education and completing my bachelor’s degree in Biology. My ultimate goal is to commission as an officer one day. I am excited to continue challenging myself, learning new things, and seeing where this journey takes me.”

YNSR White has demonstrated exceptional personal and professional growth through her consistent performance, leadership, and positive attitude. As a former restricted Sailor, she has made a complete turnaround and now sets a strong example for her peers through accountability, initiative, and dedication to the command.

She volunteered as the Temporary Holding Unit Assistant Lead, where she demonstrates effective leadership and maintains full accountability for all watches. She efficiently manages the worklist, coordinates roving responsibilities, and ensures all required stations are properly manned to meet mission requirements.

Her positive, can-do attitude and unwavering commitment to excellence led directly to her selection as Sailor in the Spotlight. YNSR White’s ongoing improvement and readiness to lead bring great credit to herself and the command.

Today, the grounds of Naval Technical Training Center (NTTC) Meridian echoed with the sharp cadence of our monthly formal student march down! This tradition is more than a parade—it is a powerful demonstration of the Navy's Core Values in action:

HONOR: Displayed in the meticulous military bearing and pride of our students as they step into their roles as future naval warfighters.

COURAGE: Seen in their decision to answer the call to serve, facing every training challenge head-on.

COMMITMENT: Proven through the daily discipline and dedication required to master their crafts and support the fleet.

This landmark day also marks a bittersweet milestone for our command. Today was the final march down for our Executive Officer, LCDR McCauley, as he prepares to transition to his next command.

LCDR McCauley has lived our Core Values every day, serving as a beacon of mentorship and leadership for our staff and students alike. While we are sad to see him go, we stand ready to send him off to his next mission knowing his impact here will shape the Fleet for years to come.
