๐ŸŒฑ Healthy Communities Start with Drug-Free Communities

The Mississippi National Guard Counterdrug Program Drug Demand Reduction and Outreach (DDRO) Team partnered with the Community Health Improvement Network (CHIN) to support prevention education at Southeast Lauderdale Middle School.

Working alongside CHIN Director Lacey Williams, the DDRO Team engaged students through interactive instruction focused on what a healthy, drug-free community looks like and the role young people play in building one.

Through partnerships like this, DDRO supports community organizations in their efforts to increase protective factors and reduce risk factors among youth. By strengthening prevention education at the community level, we can help equip young people with the knowledge, skills, and support they need to make healthy choices.

We are proud to partner with CHIN as they continue working to strengthen healthy, drug-free communities across our area.

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ FY26: A YEAR OF TRAINING, PARTNERSHIP, PREVENTION AND IMPACT

As Fiscal Year 2026 comes to a close today, the Regional Counterdrug Training Academy RCTA is proud to reflect on a year filled with growth, service, partnerships, and impact across Mississippi and throughout the nation.

RCTA continued its mission of providing high-quality, tuition-free counterdrug training to law enforcement professionals. Our instructors traveled across the country while also welcoming students to NAS Meridian and Camp Shelby, delivering courses in Tactical Emergency Casualty Care, Tactical Arrest and Control Procedures, Advanced Interview and Interrogation, Peer Support, Social Media for Drug Enforcement, Fentanyl and Opioid Overdose Death Investigations, Contraband Parcel Interdiction and Controlled Deliveries, Officer Survival Tactics, Mexican Cartels and Their Violence, Executing Search Warrants, Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs, and other critical areas affecting today's law enforcement professionals.

Our reach extended beyond the classroom.

RCTA supported law enforcement and narcotics conferences across the country, strengthened relationships with partner agencies and organizations, and participated in events including Magnolia Crucible, bringing together professionals focused on emerging threats, unmanned aircraft systems, and counter UAS capabilities.

We hosted the 2nd Annual SHIELD Summit, creating an opportunity to focus on mental wellness, resiliency, spiritual health, leadership, and the long term well being of those who serve.

Throughout the year, our team continued building relationships with law enforcement agencies, community organizations, prevention professionals, narcotics associations, and Counterdrug partners. Those partnerships allow us to take training and resources where they are needed and strengthen the collective effort to protect our communities.

FY26 was also a year of recognizing excellence within our team. We recognized our instructors and staff for their dedication, professionalism, and contributions to the Regional Counterdrug Training Academy and the Mississippi National Guard Counterdrug Program.

We closed the fiscal year with the Mississippi National Guard Counterdrug Program Annual Training Meeting in Nashville, Tennessee, to review what we accomplished, recognize our people, and prepare for the mission ahead.

Every class taught, every mile traveled, every officer trained, every community reached, and every partnership strengthened represents another step forward in our mission.

To our instructors, staff, students, law enforcement agencies, community coalitions, prevention partners, and everyone who supported RCTA throughout FY26, thank you for being part of the mission.

We are proud of what we accomplished in FY26, and we are ready to build on that momentum.๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ STRENGTHENING PARTNERSHIPS. SHARING KNOWLEDGE. ADVANCING THE MISSION.

Members of the leadership teams from the Regional Counterdrug Training Academy RCTA, Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, and Mississippi Bureau of Investigation attended the NASDEA 2026 Fall Conference in San Diego, California.

The National Alliance of State Drug Enforcement Agencies (NASDEA) brings together state law enforcement agencies nationwide to collaborate on best practices, share information, and support the development of responsible drug enforcement policies and procedures that help agencies better protect the communities they serve.

Opportunities like this allow our leaders to exchange knowledge, strengthen partnerships, learn from agencies across the country, and bring valuable information back to Mississippi and the law enforcement professionals we support.

๐Ÿค Collaboration beyond state lines strengthens the mission at home.
