Giving Honor to our Lord and savior Jesus Christ who is the head of my life
***UPDATE FOR PILGRIM HILL UMC ***
Though we have guidelines and procedures for returning to in-person worship,
We also have the discernment of the Holy Spirit to guide us.
Therefore, despite the declarations to reopen by government officials,
I have decided to consider our individual needs and concerns as a church family before we rush to reopen.
Our membership is made of many individuals who are at risk.
As shepherd of a vulnerable community, I must take special care to guard the health and welfare of God’s people entrusted to my leadership.
Latest statistics show Lauderdale county has greatly improved our numbers of cases of COVID-19.
Many members continue in their decision to “Remain Safer at Home” a little longer.
Therefore, this Sunday we will continue to use the Zoom Conference call as our medium of meeting to worship. However, we will have a connection to our physical church location.
Thank you for your patience,
Preston Jones, Pastor
Be Blessed!!
Today we celebrate the end of the forty days following the resurrection of Jesus Christ. In His last words before His final Ascension, Jesus told His disciples to go to Jerusalem and to wait there for the Holy Spirit to descend upon them. With the power of the Holy Spirit, the disciples would be able to continue the ministry of Jesus. The miracles Jesus had performed would now be performed by the Holy Spirit through the disciples. As Jesus blessed the disciples, He was taken up into heaven to sit at the right hand of God.
