Change a life. ⬇️ Learn more We are a network of local Mississippi volunteers working to help the animals in need in Lauderdale, Newton, Neshoba and surrounding counties. We are not a shelter - we are a foster-based organization. We operate off of donations and money that we raise through fundraisers. We work with rescues to further help and place the animals we take in, and those rescue partners
❤️🐾 From Jerry Manor:
So at the rescue every night before I would leave a stray cat comes from the Texaco gas station across the street and waits for me to lock the door and then I’ll feed her. This has been going on for a couple of months- if I trapped her I have nowhere to put her or keep her so I did not really know what to do.
One day I went to the vet clinic across the street, Til Newell, and asked the girl upfront, her name is McKenzie, if she had ever seen that cat. She said yes actually that cat was in front of their door having some wild sexy stuff going on a couple of days before. So that’s when I knew I had to trap her. We do not need any more stray kittens running around. So yesterday she was here during the daytime which was unusual so I set up the trap and planned to take it down at 3o’clock because the clinic would close in a couple of hours and I had nowhere to keep her if I trapped her. Well I forgot to remove the trap and sure enough around 6 o’clock some of the dogs were reacting to something going on in that area and I went over there and there’s the dang cat in the trap. I called the clinic and she asked me to set her something up so I could overnight her and bring her over there in the morning when they were open so I started doing that and right when I got through the clinic called back, Dr. Anna said she had to come back up there and I could bring the cat right over. I don’t really like the idea of trap and release after spay /neuter but here I am -Mr Hypocrite.
Turns out when you feed a cat for more than a week or so, a stray cat, you are considered the owner because you are harboring the animal. So I guess this is kind of my cat but it’s not really my cat. She was fixed this morning and it turns out she’s not a girl. She’s a boy. Good grief but anyways he got neutered and he got a rabies vaccination a cat vaccine and flea medicine. It’s going to cost at least $200.
Somebody please send some money because the Board of Directors is going to kill me. Also I promise to stop calling him a girl.
