The Bus manages a variety of social media pages and strives to share informative, engaging, supportive communities where we can share information and have conversations. We do our best to share information that is important to our passengers, listen to their feedback, and answer questions. If you post, respond or comment on any of our pages, you are agreeing to abide by the guidelines below. Please keep in mind that the comments and responses that you read on our pages that are not posted by The Bus come from members of the public. The comments posted on our page by the public do not necessarily reflect the views of The Bus. The Bus also reserves the right to reject or remove comments that are not in keeping with its policy

Guidelines:

1. Stay on topic and be respectful

We ask that everyone show respect for other members of our social media communities. We encourage and welcome your comments and feedback, provided that you share your
viewpoint in a way that is respectful to us and our community. Comments that are discriminatory, racist, offensive, obscene, abusive, harassing, profane, unlawful, include explicit commercial endorsements, or express blatantly partisan political views will be removed from the page.

2. Comment moderation and response

We will do our best to respond quickly to your comments and questions. Generally, we check in frequently during business hours and once on non-business days. Although we are moderating our page to help ensure that users’ posts comply with these Guidelines, we cannot be responsible for the accuracy or reliability of any comments or materials posted by users.

3. We may use your posts

By posting on one or more of our social media channels, you understand that your posts, and
any ideas or techniques contained in them, may be freely used by us in any way and in any
media, including on this forum, on our other websites and social media pages, and in our business. Accordingly, please do not submit any ideas or materials that you wish to keep confidential or for which you expect to receive compensation. In addition, when you post in any of our social media channels, your name, likeness and social media handle will be visible and associated with your post and if we re-use your post elsewhere, we may display your name, likeness and handle there as well.

4. Age limitations

- You must be at least 13 years old to participate;

- If you are between 13 to 17 years old, please do not post your comment without the knowledge and permission of a parent or legal guardian.

-If you are an adult, and your post contains the name or likeness of a minor, you must be the parent or legal guardian of that minor.

5. Legal action

- Your comment, response, or other posting may be submitted to law enforcement if we have a good faith belief that inappropriate information, inappropriate behavior, or any other violation requires law enforcement protection or guidance to maintain the safety of the public or an individual.

In honor of the holiday, The Bus’ administrative office will be closed and there will be no service (including the UC Route) today, Monday, September 7th. Regular service and office hours will resume Tuesday, September 8th.

Thanks to Measure V, all Veterans can ride The Bus for free!

In order to ride any fixed-route or microtransit service (aka The Micro Bus) for free, Veterans should show the driver one of the following IDs when boarding:
- Department of Veterans Affairs card
- Veteran Health Identification Card (VHIC)
- Driver's license with ‘Veteran’ designation

Measure V is a half-cent transportation sales tax passed in November 2016 by Merced County voters for the purposes of local transportation maintenance and improvements over a 30-year span. Five percent of all revenue generated by the Measure is dedicated to the support of transit services within Merced County. For more information about Measure V, visit: www.mcagov.org/MeasureV

Please be advised that there will be no bus service (including the UC Route) on Monday, September 7th in honor of the Labor Day holiday. In addition, The Bus’ administrative office will also be closed that day.

Regular operations and office hours will resume on Tuesday, September 8th.

Thanks to Measure V, ADA-eligible individuals can ride The Bus for free!

In order to ride any fixed-route or microtransit service (aka The Micro Bus) for free, just show the driver a valid ADA Paratransit card or Medicare card with a photo ID, take a seat and enjoy the air-conditioned ride.

To use the Paratransit service – which is also free - passengers must go through an approval process in advance. To apply for Paratransit service, please call 1-877-232-7433 or visit www.mercedthebus.com/147/Paratransit to obtain the application and submission instructions.

Remember that all new and returning UC Merced students can ride all fixed-route service on The Bus for FREE by showing your current student ID to the bus driver. Catch a bus to directly to campus on the UC route from a number of stops throughout Merced or use other routes for shopping, entertainment, appointments, or visiting friends. Our fixed-route buses have bike racks, AC, and free Wi-Fi on board. All routes and schedules can be found on our website at: www.mercedthebus.com

🔵 Seniors (aged 62 years or older)
