A little bear makes a big difference. Today is National Teddy Bear Day, and at the Mercy Medical Center Merced Foundation, our favorite bears are the ones that bring comfort to our youngest patients. Through our Project CALM initiative, we are proud to provide teddy bears to children visiting our Emergency Department. Empowering the next generation starts with health and support! We teamed up with the Los Banos School District to hand out backpacks to local students, helping them kick off the school year with everything they need to succeed.

August is National Breastfeeding Month! We are proud to advocate for the health and well-being of mothers and their babies. A huge thank you to First 5 for their generous philanthropic investment in our community. Through our partnership, we have been able to install a new breastfeeding pod in our hospital lobby, and at Merced College Downtown Campus, providing a private, comfortable, and accessible space for families.
