If you're exhausted after walking with your prosthesis, it may not be because you're out of shape.

It could be because you're working harder than you need to.

Proper alignment and gait training can make a tremendous difference in how efficiently your body moves. The goal isn't just to get you walking—it's to reduce unnecessary motion, conserve energy, and create a prosthesis that works *with* your body instead of against it.

A well-designed prosthesis should help you do more while using less effort.

That's what we strive for every time.

If your prosthesis doesn't fit properly, your body will find a way to compensate.

That might mean uneven posture, extra strain on your muscles, unnecessary fatigue, or even pain that seems unrelated at first.

The goal isn't just to help you walk. It's to help your body move as naturally and efficiently as possible.

That's why the right fit matters so much, especially if you want to stay active and do the things you love.

A well-fitted prosthesis shouldn't make life harder. It should make it easier.

A prosthesis can change someone's mobility, but it doesn't solve every challenge they face.

Over the years, I've walked into homes where the biggest obstacle wasn't the prosthetic itself. It was the lack of a wheelchair ramp, an accessible bathroom, or the simple ability to get in and out of the house safely.

That's why we expanded beyond prosthetics.

Because helping someone regain independence means looking at the whole picture, not just one piece of it.

At the end of the day, it's not about the device. It's about helping people live their lives with dignity and confidence.

People often ask me what the best part of my job is.

It's not building the prosthesis.

It's the moment someone stands up and realizes what's possible again.

Watching someone take those first steps, regain their independence, or simply do everyday things that many of us take for granted is something I'll never get used to.

Those moments remind me why I chose this profession 25 years ago.

Helping people get back to living their lives is, and always will be, the greatest reward.

It's crazy how one random moment can change the entire direction of your life.

I wasn't looking for a career in prosthetics.

I barely watched TV, but one day I walked in and a documentary about prosthetics happened to be on. Something about it just clicked.

A little research turned into a conversation.

That conversation turned into an introduction.

The introduction turned into an interview.

And two days later, I was on the job.

That "random" decision became a 25-year career.

Sometimes your next chapter doesn't come from some five-year plan. Sometimes it starts because you stay curious enough to say, "I wonder what would happen if I gave this a shot."

You never know which small moment is going to change everything.

People always assume if you got fired, you must have done something wrong.

That wasn't my story.

I got fired twice while I was outworking everyone around me and learning faster than people expected. Looking back, I realize it had more to do with making other people uncomfortable than it did with my performance.

At the time it pi**ed me off.

Now I'm grateful for it.

Because every time it happened, it pushed me a little harder toward building my own company. I decided I never wanted my future to depend on whether someone else liked me or wanted me around.

Funny how the biggest setbacks can end up pointing you exactly where you're supposed to go.

Has something that felt like a failure ended up becoming the best thing that ever happened to you?

Did you know that the majority of amputations result from diseases rather than accidents? Understanding the underlying causes such as diabetes, peripheral artery disease, and infections, can help raise awareness and promote prevention strategies.

A prosthetic should never cause pain. If someone said otherwise, they weren't telling the truth.

Many individuals with prosthetics experience discomfort, believing it's a normal part of the process. However, your prosthetic shouldn't hurt. If you're facing pain, it may be a sign that your prosthetic needs adjustments. Consult with your prosthetist to ensure proper fit and function, as pain is not something you should have to live with.
