🌱 As part of Mayor Paul Young’s “Era of Yes,” we are excited to spotlight one of our newest MPLOY business partners, Golden Institute. In their first year partnering with MPLOY, Golden Institute has welcomed our students and provided hands-on learning experiences in horticulture and gardening. We are grateful for their partnership and commitment to investing in the next generation and helping our youth grow.

The City of Memphis Office of Youth Services, the I Am Included Program, Memphis Shelby County Schools, and the University of Memphis Institute on Disability-TigerLIFE hosted a community ice cream social celebration.  The social included several outdoor and inflatable games, TikTok dance-offs, line dancing, face painting, free food, giveaways, community vendors, and much more!!

🌟 As part of Mayor Paul Young’s “Era of Yes,” we are proud to spotlight one of our newest business partners, Al’s Wings & Things. This summer, 8 MPLOY participants were placed at 2 of their 3 locations, where they are gaining hands on experience by taking customer orders, helping prepare meals, assisting with daily operations, and learning the importance of excellent customer service. Through this opportunity, students are getting a firsthand look at what it takes to help run a successful business.

This is the beginning of our series, “A Day in the Life of a MPLOY Intern. Our interns along with their business partner, Sweet Aroma Dessert Studio, hosted a cookie decorating party for MSCS Project Stand Graduating Seniors.

Owner, Quishandrea “Shun” Williams, taught our MPLOY Interns to bake and decorate cookies their first day of employment so they could assist her with the party the very next day. Go MPLOY Interns!

We wrapped up our final MPLOY Orientation at Westwood and TLA as students prepared for a successful summer ahead. Students received important information about professionalism, workplace readiness and program expectations. Special thanks to Lynetra C. Ross for speaking and encouraging our youth as they get ready to represent Memphis Youth Rising this summer.
