“Surprised you’re going political..”
“Go back to being an encouraging place!” they said.
Sometimes, people don’t want all of you.
They only want the shiny parts.
The hopeful parts.
The parts that make them feel affirmed in their choices, better about themselves, better about life.
But Jesus was the light IN the darkness.
He showed us the evils that were present in the world and in religion. He came to show us a better way- the way of love.
And this love is not passive. It acts. It restores. It heals. This love flips tables, too.
To skip over the darkness would be to ignore what Jesus teaches us to do.
I won’t apologize for using my voice in this time of darkness.
I won’t back down from advocating for the marginalized.
I won’t stay silent in the blatant idolatry of evil.
So, here you can expect light IN the darkness. We don’t ignore what’s wrong in our world and in our lives & we look for ways beauty is still unfolding.
We become a part of that unfolding.
More of what you can expect from me in the comments.

To be racist is to treat White adults like kids and Black kids like adults. To be antiracist is to treat all adults like adults and all kids like kids.
