Ocean Engineering - The application of Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Physics and Computer Science to the Ocean.
Ocean engineering is a multidisciplinary field of technology applied to the ocean environment. It is a combination of the classical engineering disciplines such as civil, mechanical and electrical engineering, with naval architecture and applied oceanography. The Ocean Engineering Program began in 1972 when the Department of Oceanography became the Department of Oceanography and Ocean Engineering.
