ABWA - Oceanside Charter Chapter monthly dinner reflected on how and why the organization was founded. It was particularly poignant since it fell on American Business Women's Day. Crazy to think that it has only been about 80 years since women have had all the rights. Women's participation in the economy has created a major shift of $2.0T to the GDP. Remembering an Icon of Advocacy for Women

With the passing of Gloria Steinem, we join the nation in reflecting on a lifetime spent championing the economic and social advancement of women.

In the 1980s, Steinem took the stage as a keynote speaker at an ABWA National Convention in Las Vegas, sharing her message directly with thousands of professional women on systemic workplace transformation, pay equity, and building corporate environments where women could truly thrive. Those who were there still remember her as humble as she was inspiring.

Decades later, those same themes—supporting working women and their advancement—remain at the heart of what we strive for every day.

Thank you, Gloria, for your dedication to the dignity, economic value, and leadership of working women everywhere.
