📣 I want to wish a Happy Father’s Day to all the Fathers, Dads, Pops, Papas, Babas, Babbos, Tatas, Tousans, Vatis, and Abbas of the 26th District — this day is for you. 👨 👨🏻 👨🏽 👨🏿 👨🦳
💙 To the dads flipping pancakes on Saturday mornings, building forts in the living room, fixing things with duct tape, teaching their kids how to braid hair, ride a bike, juggle a soccer ball, helping with school projects, and making the kids laugh when they need it most.
💙 And to the dads who are doing their best even on the days it doesn’t feel like enough — worrying about the bills, working long hours or two jobs, stretching every dollar, and hoping they’re getting it right. To the dads serving overseas, the dads heading out for the night shift when everyone else is heading in, the dads caring for a child with a disability, and the dads caring for aging parents even as they raise their own kids.
💙 And to the dads carrying quiet grief — the dads who’ve lost a child, the dads navigating distance or complicated relationships — and the dads watching their children grow into young adults with all the pride and complicated mix of feelings that comes with seeing them step out into their own lives.
💙 Happy Father’s Day to all the dads who show up with Delco love, patience, and heart.

🎶 The Rose Tree Summer Festival is back this week — a wonderful annual tradition now in its 51st season, proudly hosted by the County of Delaware's Parks & Recreation Department. This free concert series runs now through August 16, bringing neighbors together for family-friendly nights of music at Rose Tree Park.
🌟 The 2026 season features crowd favorites like Reggae Thunder, Del's Groove, New Orlean's Fish Fry, Class of ’84, Jimmy & the Parrots, and Chico’s Vibe — plus exciting new acts including Controversy: A Prince Tribute, Jexxa & the Antiheroes: A Taylor Swift Tribute, Gilligan’s Yacht Rock, Echoes of Laurel Canyon, and Minute by Minute: The Music of Michael McDonald.
🎸 As a proud ukulele enthusiast, I was hoping for an all‑ukulele super‑group takeover of the Rose Tree stage. Maybe next summer.
➡️ Most shows start at 7:30 p.m. More details and the full concert schedule: https://www.delcopa.gov/parks/summer-festival

📢 Delaware County is receiving $1.05 million in new PHARE funding to help families stay housed, prevent evictions, and preserve affordable homes across our communities.
🏠 As rising rents and limited supply strain residents, this investment strengthens the programs keeping people safe and stable — from eviction prevention and rent help to senior housing support and affordable unit preservation.
💵 These dollars power local partners delivering legal aid, utility assistance, shallow rent support, immigrant senior housing, and home‑sharing options that help people stay rooted in their communities.

Thank you to Good Day Philadelphia for having me on this morning to reflect on the one‑year anniversary of Abby Gillon’s passing and why moving Abby’s Law (SB 1008) forward remains so important.
Last June, 12‑year‑old Abigail Gillon and her 11‑year‑old friend Isabella “Bella” Jones were thrown into traffic in an e‑scooter crash in Aston Township. Bella survived, but Abby tragically passed away one year ago today. My heart is with her family.
Abby’s Law, the bill I introduced to create basic statewide e‑scooter safety rules, still hasn’t received a vote, despite bipartisan support. E‑scooters are convenient mobility tools — powerful machines, not toys — and families deserve clear rules to help keep kids safe.
Thank you to Abby’s family for their strength and advocacy to prevent other families from experiencing such pain. I will continue to do everything I can to persuade Senate leadership to allow a vote on this lifesaving bill.
