Happy Thanksgiving! I’m thankful for friends who help to create a feeling of a home away from home and who enjoy checking out foodie places with me.

Part of yesterday’s Hari Raya Puasa feast at S’s home in MD. So thankful for the Singaporean and Malaysian friends that I’ve made in the DC, Maryland, & Virginia (DMV) area. Being so far away from home, I appreciate every bite of my friends’ dishes that remind me of the flavors from home.

I’m still thinking about the Adana Kebabs that D and I had at Turkuaz Market in Manassas. Their lamb chops are really good too and the food is grilled to order. We like to buy their Halal meats too.

I bought a red Sarong Kebaya from Rumah Kim Choo during my recent trip to Singapore. I’m looking forward to wearing it for Chinese New Year and to using the Nonya patchwork piece as a tablecloth.

Now that my right hand is feeling better, I got around to unpacking more of my stuff. These books were pretty heavy and added 0.5kg to my load. Happy to finally add a copy of one of Singapore’s Four Heavenly Kings’ cookbook to my collection.
