This morning, we had the privilege of hosting our SEAL Employer Recognition Breakfast, celebrating the incredible employers who helped make the Summer Earn & Learn (SEAL) Program a success! 👏

Through SEAL, students with disabilities have the opportunity to spend approximately 8 weeks working as interns, gaining valuable real-world work experience, developing workplace skills, building confidence, and discovering their potential.

But these opportunities wouldn’t be possible without employers willing to open their doors and invest in the next generation of talent. 💙

To all of our participating employers, thank you for believing in these students, providing meaningful experiences, and helping them build skills that can support their long-term success. Your partnership makes a difference!

💼 Are you an employer interested in getting involved in a future SEAL program? We’d love to connect with you and share more about how your organization can help create meaningful work experiences for students with disabilities.

📩 Reach out to our Workforce Solutions team to learn more about becoming a SEAL employer!

💻 Building the IT Workforce of Tomorrow — Together! 🚀

Great things happen when our community’s technology leaders come together!

Workforce Solutions in partnership with Edinburg Economic Development Corporation , UTRGV Professional Education & Workforce Development and the UTRGV Career Center recently brought together IT leaders from nonprofits, education, private industry, and government for an important IT Taskforce meeting focused on one shared goal: strengthening the region’s IT workforce.

🤝 Leaders came together to:
🔹 Identify the growing demand for skilled IT workers
🔹 Explore in-demand IT careers and industry needs
🔹 Discuss credentials and training that can lead to career opportunities
🔹 Develop partnerships and programs that connect community members to the skills employers need

🔹 Find solutions to help build a stronger, more competitive technology workforce
The future of IT in the Rio Grande Valley depends on collaboration, innovation, and creating pathways to opportunity. By joining forces across sectors, we can help more community members gain the skills and credentials they need to launch, grow, and prosper in IT careers.

🌐 Together, we’re connecting people to opportunity and building the workforce our region needs.
