We are on the lookout for a volunteer who can alter some bedsheets for us. We have a closetful of XL twin bedding that doesn't work great with regular twin beds. The blankets are ok, but the sheets (especially fitted) don't work for our beds in the shelter.

Are you handy with a sewing machine? Know someone who is? Check out all the details in the link below!

Art has the power to tell stories when words aren't enough.

This October, we’re bringing our community together for The Art of Resilience: An Evening of Hope and Awareness, and we’re looking for local artists who would like to be part of it.

We are inviting artists of all backgrounds, styles and experience levels to create or contribute artwork inspired by themes of:

You don’t need to be a professional artist to participate. If you create art and believe in the power of creativity to inspire hope and connection, we would love to hear from you.

Make sure to give the Manitowoc County Human Trafficking Task Force a follow!

Pictured here is the newly established Manitowoc County Human Trafficking Task Force, a multidisciplinary team committed to preventing human trafficking through education, awareness, collaboration, and community engagement. By partnering across agencies and organizations, the task force works to identify and address trafficking risks and will promote prevention efforts throughout the community. Through outreach events, public education initiatives, and social media engagement, the team's goal is to raise awareness, empower community members with knowledge, and help protect individuals from exploitation.

Look for our logo and the representation of our team's commitment to preventing human trafficking, raising awareness, and working together to protect members of our community.

πŸ’œ A Heartfelt Thank You to Our Community πŸ’œ

We continue to be amazed by the generosity of our community. Your donations have helped provide comfort, dignity, and hope to survivors and families when they need it most. Every item you have given has made a real difference, and we are so grateful for your ongoing support.

Because of your incredible generosity, our storage space is currently at capacity for several items. At this time, we are temporarily unable to accept donations of the following:

β€’ Books
β€’ Clothing and shoes
β€’ Diapers (with the exception of Size 5, although this is not an urgent need)
β€’ Travel-size toiletries. Because most of our residents stay with us for an extended period, we typically have greater need for full-size items. If you have travel-size items to donate, we encourage you to consider donating them to the Manitowoc Warming Shelter, where they are often needed.
β€’ Pillows, hats, and hair accessories, unless they are new

We kindly ask that you hold onto these items until we announce that we are accepting them again.

We are still happy to accept donations of items we currently need! Please check out our Wednesday Wish List posts for our most up-to-date needs. We will continue to update our wish list as our needs change.

We are also currently accepting larger household items for individuals and families moving into permanent housing, including:
β€’ Couches and armchairs
β€’ Beds and bed frames
β€’ Dining tables and chairs
β€’ Other large household furniture, such as lamps, nightstands, dressers, and more

If you'd like to donate larger furniture items, please call us and ask to speak with our Housing Program Coordinator before dropping them off.

Thank you for understanding and for standing with survivors in our community. Your kindness and generosity truly makes our work possible. πŸ’œ
