Remember that we are all in a spiritual battle in our relationships. Be intentional to increase the love and watch fear be chased away.

Take a step back and ask: Where do I need to protect myself this season? Setting boundaries isn’t selfish—it’s a gift you give yourself and others.
What’s one boundary you’re setting this holiday season?

Remember…we are in a spiritual battle in our marriages. A battle between love and fear (2 John 4:18). We have to be intentional to increase the love if we are going to win this battle.
What are you going to do today to ensure love is experienced in your marriage? What are you going to do to drive out fear in your relationship?

If we are going to receive our spouse’s feedback as good information so we can make adjustments, we have to understand it’s not about our intentions. It’s about our spouse’s experience of us.
When your actions have led to your spouse feeling hurt, be careful not to get defensive and defend your intentions. This can be hard because the vast majority of us are good intentioned spouses. But please remember it’s about you did something that led to your spouse feeling hurt. Period. In fact, if you say something like: “But that’s not what I meant” this will only lead them to feel invalidated and more hurt.
