It's with great sadness that we're sharing news of the passing of Jim Davidson, former piper in the Manchester Pipe Band. Jim was an enthusiastic supporter of the band even after he left our ranks, and a great advocate for piping throughout Connecticut. We'll all miss Jim's support and send our condolences to his family. We were happy to have Jim in attendance at our 110th Anniversary dinner last November; a picture from that evening is shared here.

A flourishing, FUN, and fruitful weekend at the NH Highland Games Loon Mountain Resort completed our 2025 competition season. We played for the drum major competitions, Grade 5 nobly competed in the QMM, Grade 4 competed in the MSR and Medley placing 3rd in both, 2 different quartets performed bagad style music (1 group placing 2nd in QMM and another 3rd in medley), members engaged in individual solo competitions, and we even tried to break a Guinness World record!

Hope to see you at Silk City Fest next Saturday at 4:10pm!
We're going to mix it up a little at Silk City Fest this year. The Manchester Pipe Band will be bringing us a few tunes.
This is a highly skilled Grade 2 band (on a 1 to 5 competition level, with 1 being the highest), was founded in 1914, and is the second oldest pipe band in continuous existence in the United States.
In the opinion of one SCF organizer, you either think bagpipes are one of the best things ever, or you're wrong.
