The blue iguana are native only in Grand Cayman. We visited the botanical gardens today, where they roam freely and are also rehabilitated and protected. They are definitely intriguing and may just be inspiration for future artwork.

You know the saying “use your treasured items, don’t save them for that special occasion”, well, it took me over 20 years to finally do this…
I bought this very expensive fabric on my first shopping trip to the fabric district, in NYC, well over 20 years ago. I absolutely fell in love with it, but my families reaction wasn’t what I expected, so my bubble was burst. I spent more on it than an annual clothing budget! I’ve taken it out of my “stash” many times, only to put it back yet again. I finally got up the nerve to cut out a pattern for a kimono jacket, only to find it was the worse fabric I’ve ever seen with!! It frayed from every cut side, so stay tape was necessary to stabilize it and French seams finished were required. Now to make a pair of loose pj style pants to go with it (in the solid color rendition of the fabric)…I’m NOT looking forward to it!!🥴
