SYSC Maple Sugar Program

SYSC Maple Sugar Program

Our maple program originated in 2007 and we are in our 2nd year as a science program at the SYSC School.

We have 180 taps in 65 Maple trees around the historic campus in the north end of Manchester NH, the grounds that General John Stark called his homstead, and since 1856 has been the grounds of the State of New Hampshire's Youth Detention Center.

Getting the new main line up just in time. It's been a struggle to get things done but we did it!

It's been a long and busy season. Our new airtight door and blower made a big impact on production time though!

Well the season is done and we had our best year to date, collecting over 2,500 gallons of sap! It is now time to finish and bottle!
Syrup was lighter this year and we will have plenty of medium & dark but very little grade B.
