Free Meals for All Students at 44 Schools All students at 44 schools will receive free breakfast and lunch during the 2023-24 school year as part of the Community Eligibility Program (CEP). Seven schools have been added to CEP this year.

Today we remember when the last of the enslaved African Americans in Texas learn of their freedom. Happy Juneteenth.

The Confederate states did not follow that law; however, as soon as Northern troops captured a region, the people who were enslaved in that region were freed.
