Snapped a quick pic of Sarah of Bel Momento Photography doing her thing at a wedding reception at The Winery at La Grange / Winery at La Grange Weddings this past weekend. The bride & groom were a gorgeous pair & they have an excellent eye for design to boot! The tablescapes they designed were stunning! We’ll wait to post those until after the couple shares 😉

Thanks to our rep Jeff at Capital Seaboard / The Chefs' Warehouse / Fells Point Wholesale Meats for getting us set up for success- from center of plate ingredients like beautifully cut short ribs to vibrant, fresh garnishes like these edible flowers!

One of our favorite events each year is the DC Firefighters Burn Foundation Annual Hot Sauce Contest at Rocklands BBQ in Alexandria. It supports a great cause and some good food to be had as well. Best we’ve done is 2nd place with Scorpion Sizzle. Well this year we finally got a first place win and we couldn’t fit the whole trophy in the picture. Support a great cause next year and maybe we can get peoples choice😉

Hi, folks! We have a favor to ask. Would you consider donating an item or two to an amazing program that helps foster both skills for independent living & work place skills/job training for young adults (age 18-22) who are differently abled? These amazing people have developmental, intellectual, &, sometimes physical, disabilities.

One of our chefs who has worked with the Transitions Program in the past was recently given the opportunity to teach a cooking class for this group via the Carver Food Enterprise Center & Virginia Cooperative Extension (Culpeper branch) & learned a little bit more about some of the goals & needs for their program. The culinary skills & ServeSafe certification that these individuals have earned will help them in so many aspects of life.

Donation of items from this list (that will be continually updated throughout the year) will greatly help this group accomplish activities that not only benefit their group & help bring awareness to the program itself, but also help allow opportunities to serve other groups in the community & encourage them to engage with these lovely young folks.

They are currently working on planning their annual Holiday Market for which they will be producing baked goods & other food products in addition to some handcrafted items.

The Fauquier area, being more rural & less populated than the heart of the Northern Virginia area, tends to have less opportunities & resources to serve those with IDD, which is why this program is SO important.

Thank you in advance to those who donate- it might seem like a small act to you but it means so much to this group & the amazing folks who head up the program.

It makes us *extra* happy to know that we made someone’s life easier by being of service during a joyous & important occasion such as a baby shower. It’s an exciting time for all & deserves a thoughtful & memorable celebration.
