“Nostalgia” Exhibit Brings Together 25 Local Artists from Prince William Art Society
On display: July 10, 2026 – August 9, 2026
9419 Battle St, Manassas, VA
Opening Reception: Saturday, July 11, 2026, 6–8 PM
Exhibition programming sponsored by Micron.
The Prince William Art Society presents “Nostalgia”, a group exhibition featuring work by 25 local artists and members. On view from July 10 through August 9, 2026, at ARTfactory in Historic Manassas, the exhibition explores nostalgia as an emotional landscape shaped by memory, longing, and the passage of time.
Through a wide range of artistic interpretations, the works in the exhibition serve as portals into moments that feel half-remembered—places once known, emotions once lived, and histories inherited rather than personally experienced. Texture, sound, color, and form become vehicles for memory, evoking both personal and collective pasts while revealing how nostalgia shifts across individual perspectives.
Participating Artists:
Danielle Bancroft, Fatima Batool, Zee Berrios, Staci Blanchard, Larry Burch, Evelyn Chatters, Doreen Dauer, Katie Keller Dugan, Scott Elliott, Michelle Evans, Nicole M Fisher, Kathleen Gates, Sheri Herrick, Lizzy B. Did you know that Disney's Lion King JR follows the same story as the full-length Broadway version where we follow Simba's journey from curious cub to king of the Pride Lands, but is performed in only one act. Unlike the full Broadway version, the JR. edition condenses the story into a single performance of about an hour. Perfect for young theater-goers, and little ones just learning about live theater.

Do you have a high-schooler that's interested in learning to paint? This six-week painting course explores how narrative can be built through the relationship between figure, environment, and color.
Working in oil, students will develop one narrative painting from concept to completion, beginning with brainstorming personal or imagined stories and translating them into visual form through thumbnail sketches and compositional planning.
As the course progresses, students will focus on blocking in figures and spaces, using gesture and body language to clarify meaning, and exploring how color, limited palettes, and atmosphere can communicate emotion.
The final weeks emphasize refinement, symbolism, and visual cohesion, culminating in a group critique centered on storytelling, emotional readability, and narrative impact.
This class is open to young adults ages 13-18, and runs on Tuesdays from 6-8 pm. The first class is June 9th, so don't delay!
