Hazel’s beautiful switchbox mural celebrates Louise Stokes, a trailblazing Malden resident and one of the first Black women to compete in the Olympic Games. Through vibrant color and thoughtful design, Hazel honors Stokes’ legacy of determination, courage, and excellence while transforming an ordinary utility box into a meaningful work of public art.

Come by Winter and Washington Streets to see Hazel’s switchbox, and discover the inspiring stories that make our city unique.
