Campers today at Camp KTECH got a special visit from Mazda Toyota Manufacturing! They learned all about how Mazda Toyota builds its vehicles, and even got to get hands on with a Corolla Cross made in Huntsville! It was a cool way to show them how some of the things they're learning in camp could become a career one day!

Camp KTECH kicked off today! We have a great group of campers who hit the ground running today. After some team building exercises in the morning to get everyone acquainted with each other, and then they split into groups and did some soldering, some virtual reality, and some work with hand tools. It's going to be a fun week!
At our KTECH graduation, students heard from Chase Hester, one of our graduates who now works as a test technician at Element Materials Technology.
Chase spoke about being homeless at one point in his life and the hard work it took to build a future for himself. Today, some of the products he helps customers test are connected to the Artemis mission and the effort to return astronauts to the moon.
Technical skills can open doors, but confidence, perseverance, and opportunity can change the entire direction of someone’s life. Chase has become one of KTECH’s brightest success stories, and we couldn’t be prouder of how far he’s come.
Violeta's story is a testament to how far someone can go with true hard work. For 16 weeks, she worked full-time, took care of her sister, and attended classes at KTECH. It paid off.
Now, Violeta has been promoted at work and is planning to go to college. She's able to help her family.
We are so proud of Violeta, and we're so happy we were able to help her fulfill her dreams.
Now that she's graduated from KTECH, Melania is getting right to work! She joined the Alabama FAME program, which means she will work full-time at Mazda Toyota Manufacturing while going to college -- paid for by MTM! It's an amazing opportunity and she deserves it.
What an inspiring day graduation was! We're going to miss seeing every member of Class 24 in class, but we're more excited to see them when they come back and tell us where they've gone with their new skills.

Before graduation on Tuesday, we had another special ceremony. KTECH student (now graduate) Melania Harris signed with Mazda Toyota Manufacturing under the Alabama FAME program!
As part of the program, Melania gets to work full-time at Mazda Toyota while attending college, and Mazda Toyota covers her tuition and books!
Melania is driven to succeed and we're so proud of her!

From rebuilding confidence to building careers, today we celebrated the incredible graduates of KTECH Class 24 and VR Academy Class 11! 🎓⚙️🚀
These students come from different backgrounds, different experiences, and different challenges, but they all crossed the same finish line with new skills, new opportunities, and brighter futures ahead.
Throughout the ceremony, we heard powerful stories of perseverance, growth, and determination. KTECH alumnus Chase Hester shared how the program helped change the trajectory of his life, leading him from a life of uncertainty to working on testing components connected to NASA’s Artemis missions at Element Materials Technology.
We also celebrated students who are already stepping directly into the workforce, continuing their education through programs like FAME, and preparing for careers in advanced manufacturing, maintenance, automation, and virtual reality development.
Congratulations to every graduate, instructor, mentor, employer partner, donor, and supporter who helped make this day possible. Your investment is creating real opportunities and changing lives across our community.
The future is bright for these graduates, and we can’t wait to see where they go next.

We started our weekend with Toastmasters District 77 coming to hold a special Life Lab with our students (and a couple of graduates who came by) on Friday! They had such a great time in this communications workshop getting some tips on public speaking -- our instructors even got to join in on the fun!
Perfect timing for public speaking tips too, because graduation is Tuesday! 🧑🎓
We also want to thank Chick-fil-A Madison (AL) for providing lunch for Life Lab!
The first KTECH VR class at Madison County High School showed off their group projects today, and they were awesome!
KTECH VR teaches high school students how to program in Unreal Engine, but it also teaches them a lot more about working together as a group, the same way they will have to in the workplace. In addition to coding, they learn time management, goal setting, and working on deadlines to deliver a working project on a specific date. We're so excited to have this partnership with the Madison County School System and can't wait to see what the next class of students does!
