In Part 2 of my Brain-Body blog series, we are diving deep into Dual Tasking, the intentional pairing of a physical movement with a cognitive challenge.
Dual tasking is NOT the same as multitasking.
❌ Multitasking: Divides your attention and drains you.
✅ Dual Tasking: Trains your attention and builds you up.
When you force your "moving brain" (the cerebellum) and your "thinking brain" (the prefrontal cortex) to talk to each other, you widen the neural pathways between them. You are quite literally building a "cognitive reserve", a protective buffer that keeps your mind sharp as you age.
Want to try it yourself? There are two equipment-free exercises you can do in your living room right now.
And for those ready to take it to the next level: I’m developing a guided dual-task app for BrainTrain, to help you level up your brain-body connection.

This move works your abs, obliques, hip flexors, glutes, shoulders, and lats - all while challenging you to stay stable and controlled.
The goal: resist arching, twisting, or rushing the movement.
