Saturday, October 3rd L+L presents the 7th Annual 🎃 LEATHERFACE + LACE 🎃 our Halloween kickoff party featuring the best hard dance beats and encouraging (literal) killer club attire!

Hosted by APOLLO MARQUEZ at Crucible nightclub in Madison Wisconsin, L+L features seamless, tag-team sets of hard dance beats, hand-chosen and mixed live by DJs MIKE CARLSON + WHITERABBIT + KOOB – including the best mix of new and classic electronic, industrial, ebm, techno, and more.

For those who can’t make it to L+L in person, the DJs’ live mix will be simultaneously streamed live as an L+L party-to-go on Twitch at twitch.tv/lnlmadison

We offer a friendly, safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment where everyone is encouraged to have fun, relax, and indulge themselves!

Crucible welcomes Charming Disaster, Duo Mercury, and Leah Brooke for an evening of ecclectic dark music.

Charming Disaster is a goth-folk musical duo based in Brooklyn, NY, formed in 2012 by Ellia Bisker and Jeff Morris. Inspired by the macabre humor of Edward Gorey and Tim Burton, the murder ballads of the Americana tradition, and the dramatic flair of the cabaret, they write playfully dark songs that tell stories about myth, magic, science, and the occult.

6:00 PM doors, 7:00 PM music, 18+, $15/$20

Join us during the Wisconsin Science Festival for a special edition of Words with Nerds, an infotainment event that's like a PowerPoint party mixed with stand-up comedy. Think TED Talks, but way funnier. A great show for information sponges who love to laugh!

Prepare to be regaled by presentations on entomology, an Iranian perspective on the war in Iran, and working at a s***m bank with Anupreksha Jain, Sarah Adelman, and Dr. Sepehr Vakil PhD.

Words with Nerds mixes TED Talks with stand-up by bringing together local specialists and comedians to present on a topic of their choice. Come for the laughs and walk away with strange new knowledge – previous performers have regaled audiences with presentations about dinosaur rib anatomy, a principal component analysis of the Taco Bell Menu, ni**le equality activism in Madison, how people misuse statistics, what can be learned from watching 100 Hallmark movies, how to perform self-surgery, and much, much more.

Come and exist, be yourself, make friends, socialize. This is a low-pressure free social event.
