Low genetic risk for ADHD may protect against negative life experiences A recent study shows that people at low genetic risk for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) are not only less likely to have the disorder, they also have better than expected economic, health and behavioral outcomes in later life.

This was an exciting week for lab member research presentations! Junior, Sheyenne Tung gave a 5-minute research talk at the annual Undergraduate Research Symposium (URS). Senior, Sam Vincent presented a poster at URS and at the Midwestern Psychological Association Annual Meeting in Chicago.

The Social and Behavioral Development Lab at UW-Madison is looking for parents and their young children, WITHOUT attention or behavioral problems who are currently enrolled in second or third grade, to take part in an exciting new longitudinal study on the role of genes and environments on social and behavioral development. Parents will receive a written summary report of their child’s cognitive and behavioral functioning and $40 compensation for their participation. Children will also have the chance to earn a prize!
